Political movements in Georgia are emerging and some are sustainable, such as the green movement Georgian Greens. Due to the many challenges we are facing, including: climate change, European integration and the debates on EU accession, it is even more important to strengthen collaborative systems and work together in the worldwide green movement. The Georgian Greens show perspective on the changes in Georgia and are on their way to establish a professional political party and are taking responsibility for the future.

The International Foundation GroenLinks started working with the Georgian Greens last year. Gebke van Gaal (director IFG and International Secretary of GroenLinks) together with Joost Lagendijk (GroenLinks’ former Member of European Parliament and fellow of IFG) went to Tbilisi for a deep dive session with our partner the Georgian Greens. Together with their executive board we exchanged ideas on various topics.

"This collaboration is quite inspirational and it is much needed for green partners from all over the world to work together, support each other and share experience. This way we make further change possible to fight climate change, to stand together for social justice and democracy, and to pursue our shared green values" stresses Gebke the importance of this strategy session.
